In this constantly changing market, organizations need strong leadership, bold vision and innovative ideas. For the past 16 years, I have worked at all levels of organized real estate to craft the strategic vision and policies that have moved organizations forward. By understanding the challenges and opportunities in both good and difficult times, I have successfully brought people together to create services and programs they need to prosper in every market place. I hope I can count on you to support me as the California Association of REALTORS® Treasurer for 2010 so I can produce the same results for the members of the California Association of REALTORS®.

Being California Association of REALTORS® Treasurer involves more than just working on a balance sheet. While it is true that as Treasurer you oversee a $25 million budget, it's also about listening and working with the members, leadership and staff and being visionary. Then, working together, craft strategies to make those visions a reality that will create and provide products and services for our members that will make them viable in these challenging times.

What is also critical is a financially sound organization whose financial goals reflect our organization's and profession's values. Our budget is our policy document, and we must work to ensure that our priorities drive our budget and guard against our budget driving our priorities. As Treasurer and part of the Leadership team I will work hard to give the members what they need to remain relevant to the consumer.

This election is about the members and I promise that if elected, I will be that Treasurer whose sole focus will be on the job and taking the responsibility of getting people together and empowering them to move toward a common goal of investing and protecting the dues dollars REALTORS® have given CAR. I will also continue CAR's tradition of being a forward thinking, proactive and effective organization as well as being responsive to the needs of our membership and the consumers they represent.
